Kindred Hearts Healing
Counseling Services

Kendra Richardson, LCSW

Meet Kendra Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Kindred Hearts Healing Counseling. With over 13 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families, I specialize in helping people work through trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and a range of emotional struggles.

My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where healing feels possible—and where every part of you is welcome.

Individual Counseling

At Kindred Hearts Healing, we offer compassionate counseling designed to support individuals on their journey to personal growth and emotional well-being. Our sessions provide a safe and welcoming space to work through life’s challenges, reduce stress, and build healthy coping strategies.

Couples Counseling

For couples, we provide therapy that strengthens communication, deepens understanding, and helps restore connection. Whether you’re navigating conflict, facing life transitions, or simply want to nurture a stronger bond, our goal is to guide you toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Areas of Expertise

Psychotherapy

I use a range of evidence-based approaches to help clients heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives. Because every individual is unique, therapy is tailored to your specific needs through the following modalities:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, goal-focused approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. By recognizing the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, you gain practical skills for managing anxiety, depression, stress, and other life challenges.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS provides a framework for understanding and working with the different “parts” of yourself—such as self-critical, anxious, or overwhelmed parts—through curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. By strengthening connection to your calm, core Self, this approach supports healing, integration, and a more authentic sense of self.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT encourages mindfulness and acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions while helping you clarify and live by your personal values. Instead of struggling against challenges, this approach equips you to build psychological flexibility and move forward with greater resilience and purpose.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Grounded in decades of research, the Gottman Method focuses on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and fostering deeper emotional connection. Couples learn practical strategies to navigate conflict, repair after setbacks, and strengthen their relationship, whether facing significant challenges or seeking to enhance closeness.
